Digital Product Passport (DPP)
Technovative Solutions Ltd. (TVS) is advancing the development of Digital Product Passports (DPPs) to enhance data sharing and to create industrial data ecosystems across diverse manufacturing sectors. This effort is pivotal to the European Commission's strategy for a green, digital, and circular economy. TVS has already created DPPs for products like EV batteries, wind turbine blades and railway parts while developing DPP solutions for textiles, furniture, plastics, automobiles, marine and aerospace sectors.

Life Cycle Assessment (LCA)
We are developing bespoke LCA tools for different industrial sectors to evaluate environmental impacts throughout a product's lifecycle in compliance with ISO 14040 and ISO 14044 standards and the PEF-based method. These tools aid companies in creating regulatory-compliant Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) and sustainability reports in a customised, economical, and user-friendly manner.

Circularity Calculator
TVS’ Circularity Calculator is a comprehensive tool that guides designers and other stakeholders to implement effective circular strategies. By providing in-depth analysis and data-driven insights, the module assists in identifying opportunities for resource efficiency, material recovery, and waste reduction throughout the product lifecycle. This enables teams to make informed decisions that support sustainable design and contribute to the broader goals of a circular economy.
Technology we use
DLT and Blockchain
TVS exploits Distributed Ledger Technology (DLT) and Blockchain infrastructure to create immutable Digital Product Passports (DPPs), enabling secure and authenticated data upload and retrieval.
CATENA-X & GAIA-X
TVS enhances data interoperability and reusability within federated data spaces for managing and exchanging DPP data, which seamlessly integrate with existing data ecosystems and standards, including CATENA-X and GAIA-X.
AI and Machine Learning
TVS leverages Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) tools to enhance data exchange mechanisms among various actors in the value chain.
Our projects
JIDEP
Joint Industrial Data Exchange Platform (Horizon, no.101058732 and UKRI grant no. 10037998), the EU-funded JIDEP project, focuses on reusing industrial data to support a new generation of data-driven services. TVS is developing the JIDEP platform, which is powered by a digital product passport, circularity calculator, lifecycle analysis, collaboration platform, and marketplace for the automotive, wind turbine, and e-waste industries.
Consortium Partners:
RESTORE
Sustainable Remanufacturing Solution with increased automation and recycled content in laser and plasma-based processes (Horizon, no. 101138775, UKRI grant no. 10112149) RESTORE introduces sustainable-by-design remanufacturing processes and materials, alongside supporting tools for the digitisation of the remanufacturing ecosystem or value chain. TVS is developing the RESTORE platform, which contains a decision support framework, ecoDESIGN framework, blockchain-enabled digital product passport, digital marketplace, business model templates, and collaborative spaces that can help to facilitate and streamline the remanufacturing process, providing greater traceability, transparency, and efficiency.
Consortium Partners:
ALABAMA
Adaptive Laser Beam for Additive Manufacturing (ALABAMA) project (Horizon, no.101138842) aims to lower the porosity and tailor the deposited material's microstructure by shaping the laser beam, both temporally and spatially, during the Additive Manufacturing process. TVS is developing the digital product passport and the interoperable data platform for additive manufacturing in the ALABAMA project.
Consortium Partners:
BASE
BASE stands for the Battery Passport for Resilient Supply Chain and Implementation of Circular Economy. The project was funded under the call “HORIZON-CL5-2023-D2-02-03: Creating a digital passport to track battery materials, optimize battery performance and life, validate recycling, and promote a new business model based on data sharing (Batt4EU Partnership)”. TVS is responsible for creating the DBP platform in BASE, which will be validated in cross-sectoral applications e.g., road and water-borne transport, and stationary energy storage applications.
Consortium Partners:
GearUp
The Project “Green Engineering, Analysis, & Reskilling for Unbounded Production-GearUp” (Horizon no. 101178484) falls under the HORIZON-CL4-2024-TWIN-TRANSITION-01-05 / Technologies/solutions to support circularity for manufacturing (Made in Europe Partnership) (RIA). Manufacturing plays a key role in achieving the twin transition goal by enhancing circularity, facilitating decarbonisation and enhancing competitiveness. A broad range of digital technologies and engineering tools can be employed to achieve the systemic circularity of the European manufacturers. The forthcoming Sustainable Product Framework (SPI) proposes the Digital Product Passport to electronically register, process, and share product-related information amongst supply chain businesses, authorities, and consumers. In the GearUp project, TVS will provide the GearUp platform with circularity and digital product passport (DPP) for manufacturing.
